Submit your proposal!
INFORMATION ON PROPOSAL SUBMISSION & SELECTION
SOUP is a great way to raise money, build community support, and get connections to local resources that can help you carry out your project.
The idea must be about the 1,781 square miles of Spokane County - including all incorporated and unincorporated communities.
Your idea can be about ANYTHING - the only criteria is that your idea be in the idea stage…not yet established. (if you are unsure about your structure, submit anyways, our team will vote for the best ideas we receive).
The funding received will depend on the number of people that attend any Spokane SOUP event. For example, if 50 people attend, your idea may receive $750, or if 300 people attend, your idea would receive $4,500. You get the door money if your idea receives the most votes.
Your proposal doesn’t need to be a novel. Keep it short, quick and to the point! You have 4 minutes to present at the dinner. We DO NOT use technology to present (aka PowerPoint or things that are based on the idea of the projector).
We will coordinate accommodations for presenters who speak another language or communicate in another way. Please do not let the presentation or any accessibility barriers keep you from submitting a proposal!
You do not have to be a resident to submit an idea.
We DO NOT email you to say that we received your application. When you hit the word “submit” a screen will prompt you that we received it.
Save your work ahead of time. Once you submit your application there isn’t an email sharing your work post submission. Save it so if you want to resubmit later you have the language you want for later!
Anything you submit (except your phone number) will be used to print at the dinners. So make sure you edit, look for spelling errors, etc.
The top 4 ideas will be selected by our team 1 month ahead of each event. If you hear from us, you were selected to present your idea!
If you were not selected, your application stays in our system and you could be chosen for a future Spokane SOUP.
We highly suggest attending Spokane SOUP to get an idea of what projects are being considered! But since October 5, 2025 will be the first Spokane SOUP, be sure to submit if you’re unsure!
Contact info@spokanesoup.com if you have questions.
